Plan the semester once. Every student’s calendar keeps up.
Ratibu is the class timetable for the university. The university publishes the semester dates. Lecturers add their weekly classes, and students join with a code. Every class then appears on each student’s Google Calendar, and every moved lecture, cancelled session and new public holiday updates there on its own.
Lecturers and admins are recognised by their university email address. Everyone else signs in as a student.
What Ratibu does
Ratibu keeps the semester timetable for the university in one place and on everyone’s Google Calendar, so students and lecturers always see the current time and room for every class.
- 1
The registrar publishes the semester
The first and last teaching day, plus public holidays and breaks. No class meets on those days.
- 2
Lecturers add their classes
Days, times and room, entered once. Each class repeats weekly on the lecturer’s Google Calendar for the whole semester.
- 3
Students join with a code
Six characters from the lecturer. The whole semester lands on the student’s Google Calendar.
What reaches students’ calendars
Change it in Ratibu and Google Calendar updates for everyone in the class, usually within seconds.
- Moving one lecture
- That session moves to its new day, time or room.
- Cancelling one lecture
- The session comes off students’ calendars, with the lecturer’s note in Google’s email.
- Adding a holiday or break
- Those days come off every class in the semester at once.
- Joining or leaving a class
- The class is added to, or removed from, that student’s calendar.
Your information
Ratibu uses your Google name and email to sign you in and put you in the right classes. Lecturers let it manage the class events on their own Google Calendar; students don’t share their calendars at all. Read the privacy policy and the terms of use.
